Global Mercury Waste Assessment – Thailand

Netherlands based BMT Mercury Technology extended their operations in 2013 to Thailand, establishing a licenced factory (106 factory license) for recycling mercury waste by means of BMT’s proprietary vacuum distillation technology.  The Thailand operating company, BMTP, was delighted to take a leading role as a major mercury waste treatment facility and be included in the global mercury waste assessment program by the Waste and Hazardous Substance Management Bureau, Pollution Control Department, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment.

In November 2016, a group of UN specialists together with a team from the Waste and Hazardous Substance Management Bureau, Pollution Control Department, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment visited the BMTP mercury waste processing facility in Bangpoo Industrial Estate.  More information on the assessment can be viewed at the below link.
